The City of Fremantle comprises the central business district of Fremantle as well as the suburbs of South Fremantle, Beaconsfield, Hilton, Samson, White Gum Valley, North Fremantle and the light industrial area of O'Connor. It has approximately 25,000 residents and 4000 businesses.
A Council made up of 12 elected Councillors chaired by the Mayor of Fremantle, Mr Peter Tagliaferri, administers the City supported by approximately 430 non-elected officers.
The CEO of the City is Mr Graeme Mackenzie.
