Suggested Day 1 Itinerary

Morning:

  • Begin your day down at Fremantle’s Victoria Quay.

At Fishing Boat Harbour you can dine on fresh West Australian seafood at one of the many restaurants or cafes that line the Harbour’s boardwalks or eat fish and chips on the sand at Bather’s Beach.

Afternoon:

  • From Fishing Boat Harbour, head across the Esplanade Park to discover the colour and vibrancy of the Fremantle Cappuccino Strip, South Terrace and Market Street where you can shop in style, 7 days a week.
  • Jump aboard the ‘free’ Fremantle CAT Bus that will take you to the Fremantle Arts Centre where you will discover more of the history and fascinating stories of Fremantle in this convict-built former lunatic asylum.
  • Enjoy dinner at anyone of the cosmopolitan restaurants located along the Cappuccino Strip and absorb the ‘buzz’ that distinguishes Fremantle from so many other cities. Fremantle is known as one of Australia’s leading ‘dining’ destinations and you can find Asian, European and Australian cuisine being served from award winning restaurants throughout the City.

Evening:

  • For the young at heart, Fremantle is home to several pulsating night clubs or why not relax on the colonial balcony of a historic Australian hotel and enjoy a ‘boutique’ beer with the locals.
  • Relax in style at the award winning 4-star International Esplanade Hotel Fremantle, Tradewinds Hotel or choose from a selection of boutique accommodation or Bed and Breakfast home stays located in the heart of our port city.

Suggested Day 2 itinerary:

Morning:

  • Enjoy a smorgasbord Australian breakfast at your hotel before jumping onboard a traditional Fremantle Tram where an experienced guide will show you the sights and sounds of vibrant Fremantle.
  • Experience what life was like for early Australian convicts who built their very own Prison on the hill overlooking Fremantle. Or be adventurous and float on a small boat through the Prison’s subterranean tunnels for a truly unforgettable experience.
  • Below the prison gates, the historic Fremantle Markets (open Friday – Sunday for bread, boomerangs and bananas) is a popular highlight for visitors seeking unique gifts and gourmet delicacies.

Afternoon:

  • The City’s historic West End is recognised as the world’s best-preserved example of a 19th century urban environment. Spend your afternoon strolling down High Street, home to unique fashion boutiques and traditional Australian craftsmen.
  • At the western end of High St, the 1831 Round House, the state’s first jail – remains as a potent reminder of Fremantle’s history and offers superlative views over Fremantle and the sparkling Indian Ocean.
  • Complete your afternoon of activities with a visit to the Shipwreck Galleries, which feature historic artefacts and other treasures, including the infamous Batavia shipwreck.
  • Before wandering back to your Hotel visit Kailis Australian Pearls and purchase your own treasure from the deep.

Evening:

  • Spend your evening dining at Fishing Boat Harbour, along the Cappuccino Strip or at the internationally acclaimed microbrewery Little Creatures where you can experience Fremantle at its best.
